OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma’s new Republican Gov. Mary Fallin says her daughter Christina will no longer work as a lobbyist at the state Capitol.
Fallin said Tuesday it was “not in the best interest” of her daughter or the governor’s office for her to continue her work as a lobbyist.

Fallin Daughter to Quit Lobbying Gig
Probably a good idea of the Gov’s daughter isn’t lobbying her mother for special projects. Besides, I’m sure Huddleston was doing it to buy influence anyway. Maybe he had to talk to Fallin Sr. because his father was haunting him, who knows… I for one am sad about this - because contrary to everyone else I think Christina is kinda hot in that Suicide Girls kinda way and she made the capitol more enjoyable. I’m rooting for that to be her new job.

Mary Fallin Supports DREAM Act Opposes Cutting Deficit Takes ObamaCare
So much Mary Fallin FAIL so little time…
Mary Fallin Skips Vote on DREAM Act
Hey remember that one time the Republican Governor’s Association went after Jari Askins for supporting the DREAM Act… those were the days weren’t they. And oh how they’ve all grown in just a few short weeks.
Wednesday night Congress voted on the DREAM Act - Mary Fallin didn’t vote. Way to support your party and your values there… oh wait… those are only your values when they’re convenient for you… right… I forgot….
Oh hey - and remember that other time Mary said she was going to stand up to Washington and fight them when she thought they were doing something wrong. So… does that mean that she doesn’t think the DREAM Act is wrong since she didn’t even show up to vote? Just curious.
And it isn’t going unnoticed by members of her own party either. The popular forum ResistNet has quite a few comments with folks upset with Fallin and the others who refused to show:
But wait… there’s more… Mary Fallin supports deficits and super spending
After campaigning on the importance of stopping the ballooning deficits and the unfair financial burden it places on future generations, here, here, here on her campaign website, here, and here ON HER OWN CONGRESSIONAL WEBSITE!… Mary supports the tax cuts to the wealthy.
According to the Congressional Budget Office estimations on the chart to the right you can see the deficit projection escalating with the Millionaire Tax Breaks.
These tax cuts add $700 BILLION to the deficit. Can we finally say that Mary has no credibility on 1. Fighting Washington, 2. Reducing the deficit and 3. Telling the truth?
Oh wait… it gets so much better. Mary Fallin Takes Government Funded Health Care
Didja hear the one about the Congressman who campaigned against ObamaCare and then threw a fit when he found out he wasn’t getting his government funded health care until like… the end of January? OMG fer real… this happened…
So, this week the Oklahoma Democratic Party called on newly elected Congressman James Lankford to forgo his government funded health care program because he campaigned against Obama’s … government funded health care. Right? Seems reasonable - why would you take something that you thought was wrong? Holy principles, Batman!
Oddly enough, Mary Fallin also campaigned against what she and con’s lovingly referred to as ObamaCare …. except the whole time she was dissing ObamaCare she was accepting …. wait for it…. …… … a government funded health care package!! In fact.. Mary’s health care plan has been paid for by Oklahomans or our federal tax dollars for over 15 years! Oh… kids these days….
Given Mary’s support of reducing the deficit and her aversion to government funded health care - me thinks she too should pay for her own health care costs instead of passing it off to tax payers like us.
Darn that turnaround being fair play. Ten bucks says she’ll take the tax payer funded health care. I bet Randy Brogden is kicking himself right now.

“Mary Fallin is always sending me email newsletters about what a great America she is…..yeah, right. Unless she was in the hospital, there was NO EXCUSE to miss this very important vote!” says Joyce Romano
“Joyce - call Mary Fallin up or visit her office and force a “face to face” meeting. Insist she explain to you why she “copped out” and did not vote. Something stinks, here…. this was a HUGE, HUGE vote!!!!!!!” Replies Jim PixleyAnother FallinFail maybe its just senioritus?

“Just two policies dating from the Bush Administration — tax cuts and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — accounted for over $500 billion of the deficit in 2009 and will account for almost $7 trillion in deficits in 2009 through 2019, including the associated debt-service costs.” According to Center on Budget and Policy PrioritiesAnd ala Stephen Colbert - its so great that you’re continuing something that hasn’t worked so far because it it’s going to help now! Well done.

Tulsa World Comes After FallinFAIL
It seems the Tulsa World took issue with our recent wag of the finger to the new Governor Elect. We’re excited to know you’re reading the blog and welcome your comments here anytime.
Sadly, in their editorial opposition they forgot their OWN editorial just five months ago about Mary Fallin and poor voters.
We don’t think that calling on Oklahomans to help the poor by giving canned food items is a BAD thing. We here at FallinFail think it’s great. In fact - we went so far as to call on the entire government to spend all of the money it’s using for the upcoming Inaugural Balls to go to feed seniors!
What we do take issue with is that this is nothing more than a photo-op. A fake politician, with fake sincerity, who is about to sign bills to cut services to the least among us.
When the Governor Elect was a candidate she was caught saying some pretty bad things about poor people, she’s been caught in some pretty bad votes AGAINST poor people, and now we’re to believe she’s being sincere? Maybe the kids at the Tulsa World were born yesterday, but ya can’t pull the wool over my eyes.
Thus, today we call on the Tulsa World to responsibly report every single instance where funding is cut to any service, school, or center which will prevent the poor from having access to basic food, nutrition, and/or health. If we really want to talk about the hungry and we really want to talk about reducing poverty in Oklahoma, I think we can all agree that the Tulsa World might ought to be along for the ride.

Mary Fallin Skips Vote That would Support the Poor & Middle Class
Via Politico
I’m so confused….. Wonder if the Tulsa World still thinks she cares about the poor…
As the White House and congressional leaders negotiated over extending the Bush era tax cuts, the House Thursday voted to extend the majority of them, continuing tax rates for lower- and middle-income Americans. …..Twelve members didn’t vote, including two lawmakers who just won statewide races: incoming Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin…So… right… ya do a photo-op for a canned food drive to feed the hungry, but you are too busy with Obama at the White House to hail a cab and drive the two miles to the Capitol, run in, and cast a vote to put money in the very people’s pockets that would use the canned food??
I’m so confused….. Wonder if the Tulsa World still thinks she cares about the poor…

Ask Mary Fallin to REALLY Stand up for the Hungry
If you read our report about Mary Fallin announcing her support for the Regional Food Bank with a holiday photo-op after voting against the poor and hungry in their time of need then you know all about the hypocrisy that we’ve come to expect.
What we here at FallinFAIL have decided is that maybe we should just cut the whole inauguration altogether. I mean think about the hundreds of thousands dollars that are going to be spent to feed legislators, lobbyists, and major donors in a time of an economic recession.
What if instead of doing that, the new Governor could donate that money to senior nutrition centers in Oklahoma that will probably end up on the chopping block of upcoming budget cuts. Sure it wouldn’t be a ton of money that would save all of our senior nutrition centers but it would help and the new Governor could finally put her money where her mouth is.
Imagine what it could be like! Fallin could announce to Oklahomans that instead of spending all this money on a big fancy ball she will be at the state capitol from 6pm-10pm that evening to any and all who would like to come by and meet her and talk about issues that matter to them.
Set an example…. like a real stateswoman.
UPDATE: Oh yeah… remember that time Mary said “a poor person never gave anyone a job”… those were good times…

Mary "Screw the Poor" Fallin
Mary Fallin Fail: Caring about the Poor in a Ball Gown
Sigh…. I’m all for doing what’s right to help feed the hungry, stop poverty, give children health care, and do what we can to help all Oklahomans end the vicious cycle of not having enough to get by. But this is a little ridiculous, don’t you think?Once again, Mary Fallin is only pretending to care with a friendly photo-op and an aging smile, but the reality is that while in Congress she consistently voted against programs that would help people who need the food from these food banks.
FACT: Mary Fallin received an F rating from the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law. This for such votes as:
Voting against the Paycheck Fairness Act of 2009, the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, Vision Care for Kids Act of 2009, Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009, and the worst she voted against the Serve America Act, which among other things reauthorized and expanded the National and Community Service Act and Domestic Volunteer Service Act… this just to name a few.
So while these generous platitudes that we see every Christmas from the state capitol might seem happy and fluffy on the surface, wouldn’t it be great if we actually had a governor who cared about poverty beyond the photo-op?

Fallin Fail: Fallin Lightens Immigration Stance After Election
Fallin Fail: Fallin Lightens Immigration Stance After Election
Governor Elect Mary Fallin did not even wait until she was sworn into office before breaking her first campaign promise. According to a recent article from the Daily Oklahoman, Fallin has signaled a decisive u-turn on immigration. But not anymore…… Wonder if the RGA will run ads against her for it
Fallin had originally said during the Republican primary that she felt immigration was a federal issue and not a state issue. Under heavy criticism from primary opponent Randy Brogdon, Fallin clarified those remarks and said that she supported the Arizona immigration law and would support one like it in Oklahoma.

Mary Fallin's Family Values
DISCLAIMER: We didn’t want to write this post. We believe that by and large, a politician’s personal life is just that; personal. Particularly for the sake of her family, we had every intention of leaving this story out of the overall discussion. However, throughout the campaign, Fallin has again and again referenced her “family values” finally culminating with her assertion during last Tuesday’s debate that her status as a wife and mother makes her the more qualified candidate for governor. We decided it was time to address her “family values.”
When Mary Fallin says that being a mother is a key difference between herself and her opponent, she isn’t just being powerfully anti-femminist, she’s tapping into a conservative, fundamentalist way of thinking to get out her base. When a conservative says “family” it translates to the fundamentalist lister as “like you, I am a conservative Christian, I oppose equal rights for minorities, I oppose measures to protect women from gender based discrimination, an most importantly I am pro-life.”
The problem for Mary, though, is that by attempting to wink and nod at her conservative supporters, she has opened the door to a discussion on her personal dedication to “family.”
At event after event she touts that “between my husband and I, we have six children,” as if she had anything to do with raising the four from her husband’s two previous marriages. In fact his four children were grown before he and Fallin met.
As to her own two children, she put them through what must have been an unimaginably painful ordeal during her messy, contentious, and very public divorce from their father. Despite publicly humiliating him, she still bears his name, so she can avoid the inconvenience of “re-branding” for her voters. The widely publicized divorce came about after reports surfaced that Fallin had engaged in at least one extra-marital affair with a state trooper assigned to her security detail. The trooper in question, though later re-instated, was discharged from the force and admitted that his conduct had been inappropriate.
The affair was adulterous for both parties, and destroyed two families. Voters were willing to overlook her personal infidelities for a while, but the fact that she has, ever since, continued to live a scandalous and immoral lifestyle while in Congress. Family values indeed. It’s time for the hypocrisy to end.

Daily Oklahoman Confirms Fallin Extremism and RGA Lies
In a shocking endorsement by the Oklahoman in Sunday’s newspaper, the Editorial Board has written a scathing endorsement of Congresswoman Mary Fallin.
I’ll admit that this blogger thought for sure the Oklahoman would endorse Fallin much in the way they’ve endorsed every Republican from now since forever regardless of whether or not it’s the right choice for them or for Oklahoma. This endorsement for DC Mary reads like a disappointed reporter desperately attempting to defect to support Lt. Governor Jari Askins.
“Both are hardworking women with small-city roots. One of them will usher the state into the second decade of the 21st century…. Negative campaign ads notwithstanding, Askins is not a liberal and does not share many views with President Obama. She’s moderate, energetic, intelligent and personable….”
And Fallin?”She’s obviously more conservative and would need to moderate her ideology if elected.”
Even the Oklahoman thinks that Fallin is too extreme and Askins is more representative of Oklahoma values. Their reason for supporting her is two fold: economic development and workman’s comp reform.
One comment from a reader hits the economic development argument pretty hard:”Fallin while in Congress was consistently against small business proposals, she voted no seven (7) times, and voted to continue outsourcing American jobs, she refused to close tax looholes that encourage companies to outsource, this she did five (5) times. Fallin offered nothing in the way of legislation, with millions out of work, she couldn’t think of one single thing to offer. Please give me a break this woman doesn’t even know how to think.”
Workman’s comp reform? Two commented questioning the usefulness of that in a state where jobs and education are the top issues of the day. In last week’s debate Askins mentioned that she’s authored workmans comp reform, you have to wonder if the Oklahoman (or perhaps a company funding the Oklahoman) is getting slapped with a ton of lawsuits from people being hurt at work. Maybe when Fallin talks about workman’s comp reform she has an insight into who we’re specifically targeting with such legislation.
In the end, the endorsement isn’t a ringing endorsement for Fallin, my guess is this is because they agree that she’s an empty shirt that can’t speak to specifics and move beyond name dropping and platitudes that sound good but mean nothing.
If I’m Askins and I win on November 2nd, every paper in the state gets an exclusive interview except the Oklahoman, but I’m more vindictive than she seems to be.

Fallin Changes Her Story on Immigration
Throughout the campaign, DC Mary has been touting her “support” for the state of Arizona’s recent immigration law. In fact, she has insinuated that her opponent doesn’t take a hard enough line against illegal immigration because she hasn’t spoken publicly for or against the law in Arizona.
That might have something to do with the fact that both women are running for governor of Oklahoma, not Arizona. The laws of another state are wholly irrelevant in a gubernatorial campaign.
That is, of course, unless one or both of the candidates specifically intends to emulate the other state’s laws, and enact a similar measure after being elected. Fallin, up until last night, had stayed quiet as to whether that was indeed her intention.
However, in the post debate spin room, Fallin was asked directly if she would support passing the same law enacted by the Arizona state legislature in Oklahoma. Her response, after a great deal of talking around the issue, was no. She does not think that Oklahoma and Arizona have the same immigration issues, and thus does not support the passage of a similar measure here.
In other words, Mary Fallin has been running all over Oklahoma talking about issues that impact another state, and solutions that work in that other state, while ignoring the real problems faced by the state in which she is actually running. In so doing she has wasted the time of everyone who has had to sit and listen as she goes on about how her opponent isn’t sharing her opinion on the laws enacted by another state, which have absolutely no bearing on this one.
Why would she spend so much time on an issue that has nothing to do with Oklahoma? Because she wants to play on the fears and prejudices of voters, rather than appeal to their indigence with real discussion of genuine issues.
And for that, she should be ashamed.
Here’s the video from the spin room:
I’ll have a debate follow up for you later in the day, but for now, just know that the biggest qualification she was able to offer last night was that she’s given birth.
Oh, and share this link with your friends:

Mary Goes... Jari Stays... again
Ok, I feel like I’ve made this post before… Actually I know I have, because it just keeps happening. Yet again, DC Mary, and Jari Askins made a joint appearance, this time with the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association. And yet again…
Jari stayed to participate with the group, and get a more in-depth look at their concerns.
Mary high-tailed it out of there because bringing more travel and tourism dollars to Oklahoma just isn’t important enough for her to stick around.
Way to go, DC Mary.

Fallin’s Signs Stand Up For Oklahoma Just Like She Does

Fallin Scared of Andrew Speno
Last night on Fox 25 Lt. Governor Jari Askins did an interview with Andrew Speno. She spoke frankly about the latest polls and said she was confident that the race was going well.
At the end of the interview, Speno said that they had hoped to do a similar interview with Mary Fallin, however repeated attempts to get an interview scheduled met with resistance. Finally Fallin’s communications director confided to Speno that they just weren’t “comfortable with the interview.”
It’s a candidate profile! A total puff piece! On a FOX affiliate of all places, and the Repubican candidate isn’t “comfortable” doing an interview?
If this is her degree of accessibility during the campaign, imagine how she’d be as governor! The governor’s office will be like Fort Knox, armed guards at the door. No one but rich lobbyists and her DC cronies will be allowed inside. It’ll be a return to the “good ol’ days” of smoke filled back rooms.
Watch the interview here. Guess next time she'll have to send her little manslave Bobby Stem instead...

DC Mary is quick to pat herself on the back for nothing
Awwww Congrats Mary! But there is just 1 tiny problem with this. You didn’t get this award because of how awesome you are, the ENTIRE Oklahoma delegation got this award which you just happen to be apart of.
According to the High Plains/ Midwest AG journal:
The American Farm Bureau Federation has honored all seven members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation with its “Friend of Farm Bureau” award for their sustained and exemplary support of farmers and ranchers. This award wasn’t about you at all, in fact you VOTED AGAINST the Farm Bill.
DC Mary is no supporter of Oklahoma’s farmers and ranchers. She has consistently turned her back on them by voting against legislation that provides support to the industry and justifying her lack of support by calling it “wasteful government spending.”
Mary likes to brag about the fact that her husband and her do farming on the weekend. This only shows Mary’s ignorance on the issue, farmers don’t only farm on the weekend. Farming is a way of life, and a cornerstone in Oklahoma’s economy, Mary & her husband’s hobby of farming on the weekends is a joke and to imply that she knows the struggle of Oklahoma farmers because of it is an insult to them.

Fallin voted against limiting credit cards for high-risk college students
Fallin voted against an amendment that limited credit lines for full-time college students ages 18-20 to the greater 20 percent of a student’s annual income or $500 if there was no cosigner on the account.
It prohibited companies from issuing cards to students who already had one. It required creditors to obtain proof of income, and credit and income history from college students before issuing a credit card.
The amendment was designed to help keep our youth from becoming buried under massive amounts of credit card debt while trying to finish their education. Something DC Mary cares nothing about.
Once again taking the sides of lining CEO's pockets... instead of helping our youth and our future.

Fallin voted to raise mortgage insurance premiums for high-risk borrowers
Earlier this year we found out that DC Mary hates the poor. Turns out this isn’t a new feeling for her, Mary has long voted against helping those living in poverty.
Fallin voted for an amendment that overhauled the Federal Housing Administration‟s (FHA) mortgage lending practices and required the FHA to base each borrower‟s mortgage insurance premiums on the risk that the borrower poses to the FHA Mortgage Insurance Fund.
Mortgage insurance premiums would be based on borrower‟s credit history, loan-to- value ratio, debt-to-income ratio and on FHA‟s historical experience with similar borrowers.
DC Mary loves to vote lock step with her rich DC friends and continuously turn her back on hard working Oklahomans.

Fallin voted against Government Effeciency
For someone who wants government to be more efficient and effective... she sure goes about it a funny way.... DC Mary voted against a bill that directed the National Archives and Records Administration to create regulations on the capture, management and electronic preservation of electronic messages that would be electronically searchable.
All federal agencies were required to comply with the regulations within four years of the bill‟s enactment. Agencies were no longer able to use a “print and file” system. The bill required the National Archives and Records Administration to create standards for the management of presidential records, and required annual certification of whether the president‟s records management controls meets those standards.
This would have help increase government transparency and been a great step forward for our Nation, but once again DC Mary votes to keep something from the people.
Fallin voted against $6.4 billion in school construction funding
Education is by far one of the most important issues facing our Country. DC Mary claims that she cares about our Country, our children, and our future.
Mary is a liar.
Fallin voted against a bill that authorized $6.4 billion for school construction projects in fiscal 2010, requiring that a certain percentage be used for construction that meets environmental or energy efficiency standards.
That percentage was set at 50 percent in fiscal 2010, increasing by 10 percent each year, until reaching 100 percent in fiscal 2015. The bill also authorized $600 million in fiscal 2010 through 2015 for the repair of public schools damaged by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, applied Davis-Bacon wage requirements to the projects and barred states from taking into account funds authorized under the bill when determining a school’s eligibility for other aid.
How can someone claim to care about our Country’s future and our children’s future and stand opposed to building up our Nation’s education system? The simple answer is someone can’t, but somehow DC Mary fails to see a reason to invest in our futures.

New poll a crock
Another poll was released at the end of last week, and it purports to show Fallin with a massive lead, but like much Fallin’s campaign, if you take a quick peek under the hood you’ll find that all is not what it seems.
We’ll begin with reports that came in last week of a mysterious poll that was in the field. Several people emailed this blogger to find out if I knew who was responsible for the phone call they had just received. The caller would say they were polling in the Oklahoma governor’s race, but then proceeded to ask questions that attempted lead the receiver of the call to believe that Democratic candidate Jari Askins was in some way tied to the national health care reform bill that became law earlier this year. The person being polled was also lead to identify Askins as a “liberal,” and the poll even included questions about church attendance.
In the polling business this is referred to as a “push poll” and it doesn’t produce reliable data. That’s ok with the pollster, because in these cases reliable data isn’t even the goal. The supposed poll is really just a negative campaign tactic that attempts to smear a candidate one phone call at a time.
Of course, after leading respondents to the answers that the pollster is looking for, the numbers come out heavily weighted to one side, and so the candidate (or candidate’s supporters) who initiated the push poll will proudly publish the results as evidence that they are way ahead in the race, the implication being that if you were going to vote for their opponent, well, you might as well just stay home that day.
Lo and behold, at the end of the week a poll was published and it, predictably, showed the biggest margin yet between the two candidates, with Fallin soaring to a double digit lead. The pollster was a company called Rasmussen Reports who are notorious for publishing data that is so heavily skewed to the conservative side of a race as to be laughable (and useless to the sort of person who actually wants to see accurate data about a race).
Rasmussen’s bias is well documented and heavily reported. Political junkies know they’re not to be trusted, but sadly if you’re not the kind of person who pores over ethics reports and polling data as a hobby (I admit it, I’m a junkie…with a hobby most would find about as exciting as watching grass grow) then you probably don’t know that Rasmussen polls are generally worth slightly less than the paper on which they’re printed. So you see the results, assume they’re accurate, and either rejoice if you’re a Republican or become discouraged and despondent if you’re supporting the Democrat in the race. And that’s exactly what Rasmussen wants you to do.
Here are the facts; national conservative organizations are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into Oklahoma to convince voters to choose Mary Fallin. There are competitive gubernatorial races all over the country, and yet precious resources are being funneled here faster than you can say DC Mary. If the race was as one-sdied as this poll seems to indicate, why would they be wasting their money here, instead of putting it somewhere that has a close race where the candidate really needs the help? Here’s the answer; they wouldn’t be. Fallin’s enormous ad buy, and her very negative campaign message are both evidence that she’s running scared, and she knows that this election is likely to be very very close.
The moral of the story here is that if you’re hoping to keep DC Mary out of the governor’s mansion, this so-called poll is no reason to be discouraged. Keep knocking on doors, keep calling your friends, and for heaven’s sake, keep sending campaign contributions to your candidate. She’s in this race to win it, and she will so long as you keep working your tail off to support her.
Fallin voted against “whistleblower protection” for her own employees
Does Mary Fallin have something to hide?
Good ol’ DC Mary voted against a bill that provided protection to federal employees who lawfully disclosed evidence of waste, abuse or gross mismanagement that they believed was credible without restriction as to time, place, form, motive, context or prior disclosure.
These “whistleblower protections” are a way to ensure honest, hard working folks won’t lose their jobs when they see something that violates the law and report it.
It prohibited employers from implementing or enforcing any nondisclosure policy or agreement. Employers were barred from investigating an employee who made a protected disclosure other than routine nondiscretionary agency investigations. The bill provided whistleblower protections to federal employees who disclosed actions that compromised the validity or accuracy of federally funded research or analysis and disseminate false or misleading scientific, medical or technical information.
Mary Fallin not only refuses to stand up for worker’s wages, she won’t even stand with working people trying to do the right thing.

Fallin voted against $281 million in math and science scholarships
Fallin voted against an amendment that authorized $281 million from fiscal 2009- 2013 for the National Science Foundation to create a new scholarship program for undergraduates specializing in science, technology, engineering or math.
Students would have to be enrolled in a four- year college or university, completed at least half of the credits towards a degree, maintained a grade- point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, not be a convicted felony and have a family income of less than $75,000 per year.
Fallin voted against funding for Community Oriented Policing Services
Mary’s political moves once again fail to keep people safe.
Fallin voted against a bill that authorized $18.4 billion over six years for the Justice Department‟s Community Oriented Policing Services program and expanded types of activities eligible for program grants.
The bill eliminated the requirement that half of program funding go to grants in areas with populations of more than 150,000 people, increased from 3 percent to 5 percent the amount of funding used to provide technical assistance to states and localities, and required individuals recruited through the Troops to Cops program be honorably discharged members of the military.

Fallin voted against cracking down on child abuse in foster programs
DC Mary’s bad politics once again turn her against the safety of the future leaders of Oklahoma. Mary voted against a bill that would crack down on child abuse in foster home programs.
Why in the world would she vote no on this? We have no idea, it surely has to be some biased party politics game she is playing in DC.
The bill required the Department of Health and Human Services to enforce health and safety standards for children‟s residential programs. It required criminal background checks for staff, the creation of a child abuse and neglect hotline, as well as a public Web site with information about program ownership and compliance with state child abuse licensing requirements. The measure authorized $15 million per year from fiscal 2010-2014 to implement the bill‟s provisions and $235 million per year over the same period for a child abuse prevention grant program.

Fallin voted against rights for state and local public safety officials
DC Mary not only hates the hard working class Oklahomans but she also voted against our public safety workers too.
One of Mary’s first actions in Congress was to vote against a bill that established limited salary negotiations for state and local public safety officials, including police officers and firefighters.
It required the Federal Labor Relations Authority to determine, within 180 days of enactment, whether a state allowed for certain rights for public safety employees, including the right to talk to their employer about working hours, working conditions, wages and other term of employment.
Mary claims she wants to keep Oklahoma safe, but the only thing Oklahoma needs protection from is Mary’s poor decision making and bad political motives. Every working person deserves the right to discuss whatever they want with their employer and ask for what they think is fair.
Taking that right away gives too much power to CEO's and they're already getting our bailouts ... er... I mean "tax incentives."
Fallin procured a $3 million earmark for a defense contractor that employed less than a quarter of jobs promised
Fallin secured a $3 million earmark for a private contractor, Wave Technologies, which operated the Urban Warfare Analysis Center. The contractor was previously expected to provide 100 high-paying defense jobs in Shawnee but actually only employed 21 people. Ernest Istook, Fallin‟s predecessor, got the first funding for the project. A former Istook staff member in Oklahoma, Mike Maxwell, was working for Wave as director of legislative affairs. Tom Leydorf, a former CIA employee married to a former Istook staff member, was the research director at the center. And Kurt Conrad, who was Istook‟s legislative director, registered as a lobbyist for Wave last year, when the center opened. [Oklahoman, 4/14/08]
The center was expected to close without additional earmark funding. The president of the company, William Axelrod, said in 2008 that it received no funding from the Defense Department that year and might not stay open if it did not receive money from the military or another congressional earmark. [Oklahoman, 4/14/08]
Fallin: The center “had potential benefits” for “our national defense effort.” Alex Weintz, Fallin‟s press secretary, said Fallin and her office “were contacted by local officials as well as Kurt Conrad concerning a UWAC appropriations request. In the course of learning about the program, Rep. Fallin determined the center had potential benefits for both the Shawnee community and our national defense effort.” [Oklahoman, 4/14/08]
Fallin received $3,100 from Wave Technology employees. [Federal Election Commission]

DC Mary takes the side of credit card companies over Oklahomans
DC Mary Fallin voted against banning predatory lending by credit card companies.
The bill prohibited credit card companies from retroactively increasing interest rates on existing balances, issuing finance charges on balances for days not included in the most recent billing cycle, charging fees on outstanding balances created only from interest accrued in the previous billing period and increasing interest rates based on a credit card user‟s credit behavior with other companies. The measure also required companies to send statements at least 25 days before payment was due and give at least 45 days notice before increasing rates.
But for some reason Mary thought it would be a good idea to let credit card companies continue to bury people under massive amounts of debt and unfairly make changes to peoples policies.
DC Mary does it again and shows how little she actually knows about common sense or standing up for Oklahoma.
Fallin Wont Take the Podium Until Opposition is Removed from the Room
Yesterday the Jim Thorpe Museum was host to the annual President’s Forum, a gathering of University and College Presidents, the Board of Regents, and a handful of other dignitaries and invited guests.
Speaking before this distinguished audience were the two candidates for governor, Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins, and Congresswoman Mary Fallin. The format for the event was that Fallin would first deliver remarks, then take questions, and then Askins would do the same.
However, just before she was to begin, Fallin made a strange request of the event organizers; she didn’t want the Lieutenant Governor in the room while she spoke. Nor did she want any of Jari’s staff in the room. In fact, she even scanned the room for faces that might be unfriendly, to see who else she should have ejected. Apparently she didn’t like the look on State Senator Mike Morgan’s face, because she told the event organizers she would not take the podium until he had left the room.
Senator Morgan was a guest of the event. He was seated at a table enjoying his lunch, until he was unceremoniously asked to gather up his things and leave the room until it became Jari’s turn to address the crowd, at which point he wsa welcome to re-take his seat.
This kind of behavior, from a candidate for governor no less, is both paranoid and more than a little ridiculous. As a public official she’s going to have to get used to being in a room full of people who agree and those who disagree with her. To petulantly refuse to take the podium until everyone who might be unfriendly to her way of thinking has been ejected from the event isn’t the kind of behavior this blogger is willing to accept from an elected official. This isn’t Soviet Russia, it’s Oklahoma.
As a side note, if memory serves, one of the issues Fallin primary opponent Randy Brogdon was most passionate about was transparency in government. Hopefully his supporters have noticed that Fallin is no fan of transparency, going so far as to have people thrown out of a forum because they might not like what she has to say. For shame!
In the spirit of transparency, FallinFail is making video of the Congresswoman’s remarks available on our YouTube channel. Upon review, we’re not sure what, specifically, it is she was hoping to hide, as she doesn’t say anything too earth-shattering. Nonetheless, in case you are one of the individuals she had thrown out, here’s what you missed.

DC Mary's wasteful Washington Spending Isn't Conservative
DC Mary may actually just have the biggest balls in the world, either that or she is a complete idiot. It’s most likely the second one.
Mary has put out a new ad called “That’s Not Conservative” you can see it on her youtube page but it’s really not worth the watch, maybe just a quick down vote.
In Mary’s awfully produced ad she hits Jari on a few issues, like being a democrat and then some National level issues.
Here’s the thing Mary.
All those thing you hit Jari on regarding DC politics are actually in part YOUR FAULT! This may shock you but being a Congresswoman means it is your job in DC to stand up for Oklahoma’s beliefs something that you have failed at over and over again.
I honestly can not understand why in the world you would think that you are better able to stand up to DC when you have no say there. This campaign is not about like you seem to think it is. I know you are been there for a little while and have forgotten exactly how the State Government works in Oklahoma but any 5th grade civics lesson can tell you that if you failed in DC and were unable to stand up for Oklahoma there then you will be even worse when acting on the State level.
Mary Fallin you are not Oklahoma, you are not Conservative, you are part of the wasteful Washington spending you hate so much. Look in the mirror Mary, you are the problem and we wont allow you to bring your failed politics back to Oklahoma.

DC Mary Votes Against Paying People a Decent Wage, 3 years in a row.
This one is real classy Mary. Not only have you forgotten what it is like to be an Oklahoman, you have seeming forgotten how important earning a living wage is.
Must be nice to be overpaid to skip votes, be bought by special interests, and pal around with your DC buddies. But here in Oklahoma people are hard workers who deserve to be paid a wage they can live on.
We get it Mary you’re not an Oklahoman, you’re a Washington insider who does what special interests pay you to do.
Don’t bring your nonsense ideals to Oklahoma.
Voting summary:
2007: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for renewable energy projects. Fallin voted for the Kingston, R-GA, amendment to HR 3161, the 2008 Agriculture Appropriations bill. The amendment waived the Davis-Bacon law, which requires prevailing wages to be paid on public works projects, for government contracts to construct renewable energy systems.
2008: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for public housing projects. Fallin voted for the King, R-IA, amendment to HR 3524, the HOPE VI public housing program reauthorization. The amendment barred the use of funds in the bill to pay for local prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act for public housing projects.
2009: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for clean water projects. Fallin voted for the Mack, R-FL, amendment to HR 1262, the authorization for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. The amendment removed the Davis-Bacon Act provisions in the bill, which required contractors for projects that received federal funds to pay the prevailing local wages and benefits to employees.

The Lost Ogle Gets it; Mary Fallin Doesn't
The lost Ogle posted a wonderful blog here.
So we just thought we would share some of the key points with you all.
So we just thought we would share some of the key points with you all.
I don’t know about you, but some quotes from this commercial really stood out. And they stood out in a “WTF?” type of way. They were:
Here’s my question. If Mary Fallin is such a “hard worker” and wants to fight Washington liberals so bad, why doesn’t she just go work in Washington? You know, like become a congresswomen or something like that.
- “Are you fed up with Washington? I know I am, and that’s one of the reasons I’m running for governor.”
- “We need a governor who stand up and fight those liberals in Washington and I will.”
- “No one will work harder for Oklahoma…no one.”
Wait! I know why! She’s already don’t that! And now she’s quitting that job because those Washington liberals were passing unfunded spending bills…bills that she supported and voted for. Bills like that pesky $700-billion bank bailout.
Now I’m no scientist – I just pretend to be one at bars – but the fact that Mary is quitting her current job because it’s too difficult makes me think she’s more of a quitter than hard worker. In fact, it makes her look like nothing more than a career opportunist…a career opportunist like all those other people in Washington that she’s allegedly fed up with.

Fallin's Ugly Campaign Backfiring?
Fallin’s sure running an ugly campaign, for someone who promised to run a positive, issues oriented race.
From Gorilla Rants:
From Gorilla Rants:
This gubernatorial race has been exceptional to watch. The RGA launches against Askins, Askins responds appropriately - calling for Mary to denounce the ads, Mary goes on the attack and blames Askins for going negative. THEN, Mary’s campaign says how they are running a positive campaign and will continue to run a positive campaign - at the very time that their consultants are putting together a negative ad to air. When the Fallinistas are asked about how they feel regarding their fearless leader going back on their word…they follow the talking points memo to a fault and say, “But Mary didn’t have anything to do with the RGA ad.” Classic avoidance. This is only going to get better. Jari Askins won’t put up with the double-talk for very long and for the first time in her political career, she is facing a general election opponent who is well liked and has the money to get out her message. Jari beat Drew Edmondson in a tough race, Mary needs to be very, very careful or that whistle stop train ride she’s on will land her in the caboose. As far as we’re concerned, that sounds like a pretty good place for her…

Mary Fallin's Cheating Again!
In covering this event, NewsOn6 said, “at times they sounded like they were reading from the same script.”
Gee, I wonder if this is why…

Mary Fallin Just Doesn't Get It
Time and time again we’ve heard Congresswoman Mary Fallin bitch about Washington DC. She says she’s been there and knows first hand that they are out of touch and she will fight them…… as …. Governor? Now, either Congresswoman Fallin failed her US History class in high school or someone at the RNCC has forgotten to tell her but…. to fight Washington you have to actually be a vote in Washington.
You can’t fight Washington from the Oklahoma Governor’s office. The only thing you do with Washington is beg for federal funding when your state is washed away in a flood or counties get taken out in a tornado.

I challenge our state news media to ask some educators some history teachers or Constitutional scholars… anyone… Explain to me how Congresswoman Fallin thinks she can be more effective fighting Washington as a non-voting member of Congress than she would be as a voting member of Congress.

RGA Ad Backlash
This post originally appeared RonBlackRadio.blogspot.com and is brilliant
Mike McCarville posted an attack ad earlier this week, bought and paid for by theRepublican Governor’s Association (RGA) that attacks Lt. Governor Jari Askins on the issue of illegal immigration. Some would say it is a smart move because illegal immigration is an 80 percentile issue. 80% of the Oklahoma population believes there to be a serious illegal immigration problem. And they would be correct.
Unfortunately, the RGA fails to recognize that under the United States Constitution, immigration is largely a federal problem - one that Congresswoman Mary Fallin vowed to tackle back in 2006 when she was elected. Much like Ernest Istook arguing that Brad Henry was soft on illegal immigration, Henry pointed out the fact that after 14 years in Congress, Istook failed to accomplish anything about the issue he himself trumpeted.
The bill under scrutiny by the RGA ignores the reality that even Representative Randy Terrill’s HB1804 protected the policies regarding illegals and their education status. Let’s not forget that many of Mary Fallin’s supporters in the business community have very loudly opposed HB1804, but Mary has said nothing about it.
Neither has she done anything about illegal immigration in her four years in Congress. Constitutional Conservatives should ask Congresswoman Fallin about her position on both HB1804 and what the proper role of the federal government is regarding immigration and why she didn’t author any legislation relative to challenging the interpretation of the 14th Amendment (birthright citizenship) - as she promised to do back when she was elected to Congress in 2006.
Here is what Mary DID say about illegal immigration: “We must insist on assimilation.”
Will there be backlash? Probably. The Democratic Blue Dogs who may have leaned toward Fallin will more than likely be ruffled over the ad and will support Jari as a result. Particularly in Southwest Oklahoma where Jari is very well known and very respected. Let’s not forget that Askins was the House Representative in a District where Halliburton was/is headquartered.
To me, it’s just more negative “gotcha” politics but in this case, it is without substance or without justification. It sickens me and more than likely, there will be others sickened by it as well. But Mary has an “out” - she can simply say that she had nothing to do with the ad and is not responsible whatsoever for the content therein.
Unless the Askins campaign kicks it into high gear very soon, Mary’s victory will be a fait au compli. Of all the statewide races where a Democrat has a chance against a Republican, this is it. Jari has been liked and appreciated by people on both sides of the aisle, but if she isn’t more vocal and aggressive, it’s done. She can plan her trip back to Stephens County.
UPDATE FROM THE FALLIN CAMP: The following was received via email regarding what Mary has done on the issue of illegal immigration. Still, doesn’t answer the question about Mary’s promise to deal with birthright citizenship, but does say that she supported HB1804. Neither does the email address the RGA ad.
I am a cosponsor of the bipartisan SAVE Act, legislation that offers a practical solution to the problem of unchecked illegal immigration. I continue to support this bill and push for the measures outlined within it. These measures include:
Herein lies the problem: These “solutions” Mary has proposed clearly do not work - and sending the National Guard to the border isn’t part of the solution. Were the National Guard to be fired upon, they cannot respond in kind - that is the role of the regular Army, not the STATE militia (i.e., National Guard). The National Guard could protect the Oklahoma border against invading Texans, but not foreign nationals.
Sorry. Answer insufficient. Please drive through.
Let’s address these:
“Physical border.” Where is it? Where is the all-important fence? Did Congress fail yet again? And what about our northern border? Granted, it’s not like we’ve had a sign
“New Border Patrol Agents.” Why not authorize the use of our active duty military? Is that not what they are trained to do? Because we have tied the hands of Border Patrol (thank you, Congress), the only solution (if we’re serious) is to allow our active duty military to protect our border which, by the way, is Constitutional.
“Advanced technologies.” Again, where are they? A couple drones here and there has really helped hasn’t it? (Sarcasm alert.)
“E-Verification.” Teeth. Where are the teeth? How about punishing businesses who knowingly hire illegals? A slap on the wrist and removal from Chamber dinner party invitations aren’t enough.
The bottom line is that America deserves better and deserves more from elected officials who tend to talk out of both sides of their necks every two years - or when higher offices become available.

- The creation of physical barriers like walls and fences on our Southern border
- The addition of thousands of new Border Patrol agents
- The use of advanced technologies like aerial surveillance at our borders
- The creation of an employer e-verification system used to confirm the legal status of employees
No Truth in Fallin's RGA Ad
By genius M. Scott Carter in ever so brilliant The Journal Record
It if wasn’t so poorly done, the television advertisement by the Republican Governors Association that tries to paint Jari Askins as a clone of president Barack Obama would be funny.
Claiming Askins, the Democrat’s nominee for governor, is too liberal for Oklahoma, the ad goes on to tell those who bothered to watch it that Askins and the president both support immigration laws that the GOP considers to be a bad idea.
Funny thing, though, that proposal they’re talking about was written by a Republican state representative. Look closely and you’ll see the 2003 legislation the ad mentions was written by then-state Rep. Kevin Calvey.
Yeah, that Kevin Calvey.
Say what you want about Calvey, but the last thing in the world anyone can accuse Calvey of is being a liberal; seriously, this is the guy who filed a lawsuit against the federal health care plan. Liberal is not a part of his DNA.
Despite what the RGA would have you believe, the legislation in question allowed undocumented students (who were required by the bill to begin the process of becoming legal residents) to pay in-state tuition and apply for state financial aid.
The bill didn’t give the students anything; it allowed them to apply and it wasn’t targeted at students who were here illegally – it was an attempt to help those students who were establishing legal residency.
Seriously, I doubt that Calvey is going to stretch very far for an undocumented, illegal resident.
But what the GOP governors would have you believe is that Askins somehow joined forces with Darth Vader, the Evil Emperor, Ming the Merciless, and a sinister group of intergalactic meanies to give away our tax dollars.
The GOP governors – who remind me of the “Swift Boat” boys – also failed to mention that the 2003 bill they’re talking about passed by an overwhelming bipartisan vote in both houses of the Oklahoma Legislature.
Further, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin didn’t do herself any favors with her campaign’s lukewarm “it wasn’t our fault” response. Fallin, the Republican gubernatorial nominee, was serving as lieutenant governor when the measure passed and I don’t remember any public statements from her concerning the 2003 bill.
Certainly, if it was an issue then, why didn’t she raise Cain about it?
If Fallin is as serious as she claims to be about running an issue-oriented campaign, then she could easily flip open her cell phone, and call the RGA and ask it to stop running the ad; I’m pretty sure that hasn’t happened yet.
So it’s come to this: A group of people you don’t know, who have no idea about what’s going on here and who have very little invested in this state, want you to believe that Askins is the bad guy.
Well, she’s not.
Askins – and her opponent – are decent, honorable people who, I believe, are trying to do the right thing – even though a really lame television ad by RGA wants you to think otherwise.

Mary Fallin Hides Behind Her DC Pals
DC Mary is running scared right into the arms of her DC pals. The Republican Governor’s Association (RGA), a partisan DC organization has stepped in to influence Oklahoma voters.
The RGA has dumped money into Oklahoma politics and started running attack ads on Jari Askins, showing just how desperate Mary really is. The Fallin campaign has had to turn away from Oklahoma once again and call on special interest out of state groups in order to try and salvage the campaign.
Mary is desperate, she is running scared, and turning to nasty dirty politics.
Well we aren’t buying it and you shouldn’t either. Don’t let Mary and her DC Pals spend their out of state money to influence Oklahomans so that they can bring their failed policies to Oklahoma.
Oklahoma has had enough of you and your DC pals, Mary.

Mary Fallin voted to keep our troops away from home
DC Mary voted against legislation that mandated minimum periods of rest and recuperation for members of the regular and reserve components of the U.S. military serving in Iraq. It established the time between deployments to combat zones to be at least equal to the length of the most recent deployment.
For National Guard and reserve members, the bill called for time between deployments to be at least three times longer than the length of the most recent deployment. It exempted special operations forces units and allowed the president and military service chiefs to waive these requirements in response to unforeseen circumstances.
Mary also said on the House floor:
“Too often, however, we forget the families, the loved ones behind our military men and women- our mothers, our fathers, our children, our siblings, husbands and wives of our troops. Their sacrifice is also worthy of our greatest respect…Of every two soldiers who are deployed, one leaves behind a wife or a husband who will wait for months, and sometimes even years, before they see their spouse again. Nearly 2 million children have fathers or mothers who are in the military, and these children, undoubtedly, feel great pride in having a mother or father serve their country, but they also feel a great burden of growing up with one parent who often is far from home and missing those important times.”
So wait a minute Mary. You are saying that children need their parents and that our troops should be home with their families… but then you vote to keep them in Iraq longer? Sounds to me like you are saying one thing and then voting completely different… but this wouldn’t be the first time.
Mary’s failed logic strikes again. She can’t manage lead in Congress, and now she wants to run Oklahoma?
Sorry Mary, Oklahoma needs good leadership not failed Washington Politics.

Mary Fallin Sells Out Oklahoman’s Health Once Again
DC Mary voted against legislation that made several changes to food safety laws, including establishing a risk-based inspection schedule for food facilities and imposing criminal and civil penalties for violations.
The bill required facilities that serve U.S. customers to register with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and pay a registration fee. Farms, grocery stores and restaurants were exempt.
The legislation aimed to hold big corporations accountable and keep the people healthy.
The bill mandated inspections ranging from every six months to every five years, depending on the level of risk at the facility. Individuals who knowingly violated food safety laws could face up to 10 years in prison. The bill also authorized the FDA to impose mandatory food quarantines and require facilities to implement written food safety plans.
It’s no wonder that Mary has received $66,000 in contributions from food service companies. Once again Mary sells out Oklahoma to special interests who line her campaign pocket books.

Mary Fallin: Keeping Prescription Drug Companies Rich, While Oklahoma Gets Sick
Mary Fallin voted against prescription drug price negotiation and against prescription drug reimportation. Mary is one of her normal moments of brillance voted against legislation that required the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department to negotiate with drug companies on behalf of beneficiaries in the Medicare prescription drug benefit.
She also voted against legislation that allowed individuals, wholesalers and pharmacists to import FDA-approved prescription drugs.
Mary said on the House floor that “one of the groups which is suffering under the tough economic times is seniors. Some are still working to earn enough money just to make ends meet. Some are on fixed incomes, and every slight increase in expenses can cause them to experience difficult times.”
Now we here at Fallin Fail know as well as anyone that Mary’s logic is hard to follow so let us break it down for you.
According to Mary having the government negotiate to bring down the costs of prescription drugs would indeed increase the cost of the drugs themselves therefore only hurting people more.
Now since she is a Congresswoman she surely knows what she is talking about right?
Wrong.
Mary Fallin once again turns her back on the people of Oklahoma and gives her buds at the Corporations what they want. By voting against bringing down drug costs Mary has insured that the big prescription drug companies will continue to grow richer, and as a result Oklahoman’s will have to keep paying high prices for their prescriptions with no cost breaks in sight.
Don’t worry folks Mary got something out fo her vote. Fallin received $2,700 from drug companies, I guess she will sell out Oklahoma for any price.

Lining Mary’s Pockets
While in DC Mary Fallin voted for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), which authorized up to $700 billion to be given in installments to the Treasury Department to establish a program to buy certain mortgage-backed securities and other assets relating to mortgages.
Then Mary voted against a bill that required the Treasury to establish standards of excessive compensation for companies that received funds from the program and for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The legislation prohibited the company’s from paying compensation deemed excessive, including certain bonuses and payments not related to performance standards set by bank regulators.
Since voting for TARP Mary Fallin has received $17,000 in contributions from the PACs and employees of companies that have received funding from TARP.
Mary Fallin not only gives away tax payer money to irresponsible spenders on Wall Street, she has gotten a nice little kick back from them no doubt so that she will continue to put their interests over those of the Country and Oklahoma’s.

Fallin to Poor Voters: “Thanks But No Thanks”
From the Editorial Writers in today’s Tulsa World:
Candidates for political offices often must tell their audiences what they want to hear. It’s one way they get votes. Candidates of both parties do it. That seemed to be the only excuse possible for U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin’s speech to the Tulsa Republican Club recently.
Fallin, who is running for governor of Oklahoma, and 1st District Rep. John Sullivan, who is seeking re-election, took their turns preaching to the choir.
Both expounded on their notions that the state and federal governments need to tighten their belts; that taxes are a bad thing; that ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans would be economic disaster.
And Fallin added this oh-so-trite, worn-out Republican bon mot concerning tax breaks for the rich: “I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been offered a job by a poor person.”
Really? Well, for the past 20 years Fallin’s job has been holding public office. She was elected to the Oklahoma House in 1990, she was elected lieutenant governor three times beginning in 1995 and she has served in Congress since 2006. With the exception of the few years she worked in the hotel business she has been serving, we thought, all the people of the state and her districts.
She almost certainly received some votes from “poor people.” They might not have offered her a job firsthand, but they had a hand in giving her a job.
In case Rep. Fallin hasn’t noticed, the poor (or maybe she prefers a label such as “unwealthy” or maybe “less wealthy”) far outnumber the wealthy in Oklahoma. And the poor have the same right to vote as the wealthy. If she’s going to be employed come November, she’s going to need those poor people’s job offers again, whether she likes it not.Thank you, Tulsa World. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Mary "Screw the Poor" Fallin
Way to go team! Thanks for all the re-tweets today, it seems we did catch Countdown’s attention, and so I present tonight’s worst person in the world, Mary “Screw the Poor” Fallin, courtesy of Mr. Olbermann himself!
DC Mary has better things to do
The Fort Sill Southwest Oklahoma Community Partnership Council hosted a candidate forum this morning, and both candidates for Governor were there. Following the forum, Jari took a seat and participated in the meeting, because she appreciates that the important discussions happen during and even after the meeting.
Mary Fallin, on the other hand, a big important Congresswoman, had to hurry and leave, probably for a big important meeting with some big important Washington types. Maybe if she gets elected governor she’ll find some time in her big important schedule for regular oklahomans….but I’m not holding my breath.
Indeed.

Mary's Golden Spoon Lobbyist Fundraiser
Gov. Haley Barbour, chair of the Republican Governors Association, was in Oklahoma last night hosting a $250 per plate fundraiser for Congresswoman Mary Fallin’s gubernatorial campaign. Barbour, a long time Washington lobbyist, is just the latest in a long line of help from Washington that Congresswoman Fallin has called in to aid her bid to be Oklahoma’s next Governor.
Barbour is the very definition of a special interest. He earned $42 million lobbying for health insurance, big tobacco and others. He was responsible for a $50 billion tax break for tobacco companies.
With Mary Fallin reaching out to special interests such as Haley Barbour just trying to get into the Governor’s office we can be sure that if she makes it in things will be no different, and probably worse.
Mary Fallin doesn’t care about Oklahoman’s and their interests, she cares about here out of state and out of touch special interests friends.

Fallin Votes To Put Oklahomans Out Of Work
Representative Mary Fallin stood up against Oklahomans by opposing the Jobs bill voted on in DC. The bill will save the jobs of over 2,000 teachers in Oklahoma and provide additional assistance to pay for health care cost in our state. The bill received support from Republican and Democratic Governors, and was paid for in part by closing a tax loophole for multinational corporations that ship jobs overseas, and the Congressional Budget Office even estimates this bill will reduce the deficit.
Mary Fallin claims she is against spending, we now know that she is against spending money to keep hard working Oklahoman’s employed.
Last week Mary Fallin announced she opposed the jobs bill that would bring millions of our tax dollars home from Washington, D.C. Fallin said she would not return to Washington DC to fullfil her job commitments as a Congresswoman and would instead stay in Oklahoma to attend a high dollar fundraiser with insider lobbyists.
She then changed her mind and went to Washington to vote against the jobs bill, calling the bill’s efforts to save teachers’ jobs a “wasteful spending measure.”
Really Representative Fallin? Saving jobs of hard working Oklahomans is a “wasteful spending measure”?
If you can’t even do your job as a Congresswoman and fight for funds to come to Oklahoma, how do you expect to be able to lead the state?
If keeping Oklahomans employed is a “wasteful spending measure”, I wonder what else you will claim is waste and try to cut if elected. Maybe public safety? Maybe libraries Where does it end Mary?
It’s time for you to stop playing games with Oklahoman’s livelihoods.

Mary Fallin Campaigns Against her own State!
Woah... Slate just totally called out MF!
"This story about Republican gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin's campaign scheduling is a sad little snapshot of how twisted conservative politics have become in recent years. Fallin, the representative for Oklahoma City's district, petulantly refused initially to return for the emergency congressional session called to pass legislation giving money to the states to relieve their outrageous budget woes. Her reasoning wasn't that her presence couldn't do enough for Oklahoma. Actually standing up for your constituents is just so old-school! Her reasoning was that the funding to help her state wasn't something she could stop, so she would just skip the vote and sadly watch money roll in to her state to stave off further budget crisis.
However, she did return to the session, not to stand up for Oklahoma in this time of crisis, but in order to make sure that she got to vote for a bill that amounts to anti-immigrant grandstanding. Even though many cities across the country are turning off lights and cutting employment rolls due to budget shortfalls, Congress felt they should spare $600 million to add agents and unmanned drones to the border. This, despite the fact that immigration has fallen sharply, in part because no one wants to move to a country that has embraced its downward decline so spectacularly that we're literally unpaving our roads.
This is how topsy-turvy politics have become due to right wing demagoguery—a candidate who campaigns not just on her stalwart resistance to lifting a finger to help out the state she wishes to run, but also on her willingness to make sure the money not being spent on roads and lights is instead fighting a supposed problem that's going away on its own. If Fallin were an actual mama grizzly, she'd be letting her cubs be eaten by predators while she ran off to fight a pine tree."

Mary Fallin is Confusing!
I mean what person with designs on managing a state budget would prefer coming into a climate of understaffed schools, especially when outside money is being offered?
"Earlier this week, the current front runner to be the chief executive of the state of Oklahoma was asked for her position on a house bill that would assist state’s in solving budget shortfalls related to school funding and health agency expenses. Said bill would provide approximately $300MM to the state of Oklahoma that could theoretically relax the pressure to fire teachers.
Mary’s response was strange but calculated: She opposed it, but even though it was her job to put that position on the record in the form of a vote, she was choosing not to return to Washington to do that.
Her position was pretty predictable. Thanks to Randy Brogdon’s negative campaigning, Fallin is reeling a bit when it comes to her conservative credentials. Despite being BFF’s with Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota, Tea Party enthusiasts still question whether Mary will do anything to be a pain in Barack Obama’s ass.
Of course, I actually read something kind of charitable into her true motives. My assumption was that she truly wanted the money…I mean what person with designs on managing a state budget would prefer coming into a climate of understaffed schools, especially when outside money is being offered? So, to appease Tea Partiers she stated an unequivocal disapproval, but was intentionally avoiding the vote so as not to do anything to derail it passing.
Apparently, most Tea Baggers saw it my way. Because this morning, her spokesperson, Alex Weintz informed the media that she was canceling yesterday’s campaign events so she could return to D.C. The reason for her course reversal involved another bill coming up related to border security which she did not want to miss.
That’s where it gets confusing. Initially, Fallin excused her decision to play hooky by saying that her vote could not help to overcome the Democratic majority. (More likely, she said “Democrat majority” or “liberal majority”.) This was true. On the other hand, the border bill she rushed back to make her voice heard on had just passed the Senate with unanimous consent. Unanimous consent means there was no opposition. The House was expected to pass nearly as easily, but now she considers her vote vital."

Fallin opposes measure that would provide $300M in aid to Ok & save Teacher’s jobs.
Mary Fallin opposes a bill that could mean about $300 million in school and health care aid for Oklahoma and won’t return to Washington next week to vote on the legislation.
The measure allots $10 billion to cash-strapped states so they can avoid laying off teachers. The other $16 billion would go to help states with Medicaid obligations.
About 100 teachers are being laid off in Oklahoma City alone.
By neglecting OK’s teachers, Fallin once again fails to show up when Oklahomans need her most.
