Fallin voted against rights for state and local public safety officials

DC Mary not only hates the hard working class Oklahomans but she also voted against our public safety workers too.

One of Mary’s first actions in Congress was to vote against a bill that established limited salary negotiations for state and local public safety officials, including police officers and firefighters.

It required the Federal Labor Relations Authority to determine, within 180 days of enactment, whether a state allowed for certain rights for public safety employees, including the right to talk to their employer about working hours, working conditions, wages and other term of employment.

Mary claims she wants to keep Oklahoma safe, but the only thing Oklahoma needs protection from is Mary’s poor decision making and bad political motives.  Every working person deserves the right to discuss whatever they want with their employer and ask for what they think is fair.  

Taking that right away gives too much power to CEO's and they're already getting our bailouts ... er... I mean "tax incentives."

This one is real classy Mary.  Not only have you forgotten what it is like to be an Oklahoman, you have seeming forgotten how important earning a living wage is.

Must be nice to be overpaid to skip votes, be bought by special interests, and pal around with your DC buddies.  But here in Oklahoma people are hard workers who deserve to be paid a wage they can live on.

We get it Mary you’re not an Oklahoman, you’re a Washington insider who does what special interests pay you to do.

Don’t bring your nonsense ideals to Oklahoma.

Voting summary:
2007: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for renewable energy projects. Fallin voted for the Kingston, R-GA, amendment to HR 3161, the 2008 Agriculture Appropriations bill. The amendment waived the Davis-Bacon law, which requires prevailing wages to be paid on public works projects, for government contracts to construct renewable energy systems. 

2008: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for public housing projects. Fallin voted for the King, R-IA, amendment to HR 3524, the HOPE VI public housing program reauthorization. The amendment barred the use of funds in the bill to pay for local prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act for public housing projects. 

 2009: Fallin voted to remove wage standards for clean water projects. Fallin voted for the Mack, R-FL, amendment to HR 1262, the authorization for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. The amendment removed the Davis-Bacon Act provisions in the bill, which required contractors for projects that received federal funds to pay the prevailing local wages and benefits to employees.
